Our client, a well-established Logistics company is looking for a Sales Manager to join their team in Johannesburg.  The purpose of this role is to grow new business and potential emerging markets within the ocean and air freight industry.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Generate personal new sales to facilitate annual volume growth as per company targets.
  • Identify potential prospects, establish contact, and develop customer relationships; target customers that can help increase market share.
  • Coordinate new business accounts secured and develop sales leads, maintain pipeline and manage inter-company opportunities.
  • Define and quantify new targets in conjunction with the Company
  • Act as liaison and communicate with foreign and domestic offices, department managers, upper management, and/or clients regarding quality service and related issues that affect our ability to meet the client’s requirements, supported by the Managers.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures / Rate Proposals based on customer requirements to ensure quality and profitable service is delivered
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports of development & progress; analyze marketing conditions and sales projections.
 
Requirements:
  • Matric
  • Degree or relevant Post Graduate Qualification
  • Minimum 5 years experience with International freight forwarding industry
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of sales, business development,planning and management.
  • Track record in International Freight Forwarding and Clearing.
